Survey Response, General

From Sarah, Denver County, August 24, 2008:

Overall, how supportive are you of the Plan's recommendations?
Extremely Supportive

1. Are there any outstanding issues that you don’t think the plan addressed?
Not really, but I would like to emphasize the need to keep our parks affordable to all our citizens.

2. Are there any recommendations that you would like to add?
Much as we may need corporate help I feel we must encourage those entities to keep their names off anything like renaming parks or the like. Corporations come and go - and not always with their heads held high. Maybe small logos on any t shirts, touristy things like at the Echo Lake Lodge.

3. Are there any statements or recommendations with which you strongly disagree?
No. I do admit to some confusion about Balarat. Having taken students there way back in the early '70s when there were no buildings, but we camped, I am familiar with its importance to our district children. I thought the land was a donation from a private person, at first refused, but later accepted and appreciated. Where do the Mountain Parks come into this?

4. Which recommendations do you consider most important in the short term?
The need for the Mountain Parks to have a dedicated funding source. How can you make long term plans without some idea of the future.

5. Which recommendations do you consider most important in the long term?
Working to increase the general knowledge of these wonderful assets beyond just being places for special events. If we are to have a citizenry that appreciates our beautiful outdoors and wants to get out there they need to be well aware of it. Those school trips certainly could help.

Other comments:
I am delighted that our parks are getting the appreciation and attention they need.
